Good tip Dlew. We’re undecided whether it’s a ‘really cool alien’ or a ‘monster chemo patient’. Really it doesn’t matter. You decide.
ps Popeye is definitely my favorite member of Hot Chip. hahaha

He has a show going up with some of these and some others at Cornish in April. If you live in Seattle AND are looking at this blog you almost certainly already know about it.

St Vincent Shreds So Sweetly & Epic Swedish Steel Drums
March 16, 2010 | In Cover, Event, Live, Music, Music Video, VideoLive in Brooklyn. When she played this live I thought I was going to fall over.
Marrow directed by Terri Timely.
Directed by Andreas Nilsson.
This show was a minute ago (late last month) but I thought I should share anyway. St Vincent and Wildbirds & Peacedrums at the El Rey. It was a great show. Wildbirds had just SO much energy and that girls voice is so strong. So intense. And of course an incredible drummer as the name would suggest. Anybody else notice that dude in Wildbirds has a hi-hat thats about 6 inches? Thing is tiny.
And St Vincent is just an incredible guitarist with a gorgeous voice.
Gotland and Brooklyn making it good.

Twenty Ten Goals Spoken Once & Recorded Here
March 9, 2010 | In Inspiration, ThoughtsSo a conversation on goal setting and life. The new year. Some months ago.
What do you want from this year?
To conceive and direct another short film.
Ride the bike every day or be skateboarding.
Play music.
Continue to shoot photos and learn strobist photography.
Actually shoot video instead of all stills. Live action film perhaps. Conduct an interview.
Build some things out of real materials.
Stay on the personal projects. Stay Focused. Finish things.
Be more proactive. Be foolish, make mistakes. Be honest and don’t count yourself out on your own.
Do volunteer work.
Leave the continent at least once. Continue to travel here in the states.
Visit New York this year. See family and friends.
Cook more.
Continue to excercise and eat well. Less meat more Veg.
A lot of these are just continuing things from last year, but man if it wasn’t an epic year. Got to keep that momentum. So much to do and see…
Marco Zamora At Fecal Face Dot Gallery
March 8, 2010 | In Art, Cycling, EventDowntown LA based Marco Zamora is showing work a Fecal Face Dot Gallery April 1.
FF: Here in SF we have a strong bicycle collolition. Are cyclists organized much there?
MZ: Yeah, It’s not only that I enjoy riding, there has been a change in society with bicycles and it is a really good thing, especially for LA. The only thing is that traffic and people that drive cars from my experiences have not taken it too well. People are aggressive. Over the past year or so there has been a strong organization of people riding from all over Southern California and is because of what the North has started. We need more bike lanes and happy people.
