What It Sounds Like

July 15, 2010 | In Music, Thoughts

So, just back from NYC. It was hot as sin, but fun. Sweating like an animal in shorts no socks and riding trains all day. Reading Albert Camus on a subway platform. Eating snacks. To-go Margaritas in the park. Burning film. C41 bnw & cheap color 100 iso film to burn. Telling stories. Impromptu silliness. Bryant park beers and cheese plates. No sleep ’til Bushwick. Truths Unknowable. Speed Freaks ≠ Heroine addicts. You won’t see me / I thought I knew you, what did I know? Stumptown invades Brooklyn AND Midtown. Speculating.

To Be Born Again

July 5, 2010 | In Music, Thoughts

And I feel exactly like this. This record owns me.

If I ventured in the slipstream
Between the viaducts of your dream
Where immobile steel rims crack
And the ditch in the back roads stop
Could you find me?
Would you kiss-a my eyes?
To lay me down
In silence easy
To be born again
To be born again

The future is unwritten,
but its been a sad/strange month.

See you between dreaming

Thanks again piles to Rob & Celeste, probably my fave couple around for putting me up and hanging out while I was in town. And Bobby and Lesley. And of course Ted.

See you kids around the neighborhood.
